First Sunday of Advent - Year C - Songs of Meditation & Advent

The Pensive Christ

This weekend marks the first Sunday of Advent and the begininng of our journey towards the birth of our Saviour! In this Sunday’s Psalm (Psalm 122), one verse says, For the sake of my relatives and friends, I will say, ‘Peace be within you.’

In the Gospel (Mt. 24:37-44), Jesus reminds us to always be prepared for the coming of Christ, for no one knows the day or hour. He says, “Keep awake, therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.

In honour of these readings, we would like to share our latest video, "Songs of Meditation", a collection of 8 meditative a cappella (without instrumental accompaniment) pieces to accompany your morning and evening prayers and meditations.

Our hope is that these Taizé and ostinato (a continually repeated musical phrase) songs inspire ‘peace within you’, and helps you prepare for the coming of Christ.

Given that it’s the beginning of Advent, we’d also like to share our previous Advent music collection, “Songs of Advent”, to help enhance your preparations for the season.

Wishing everyone a prayerful weekend!

God bless,

Edmar
